Gender-Motivated Violence Act Claims Deadline is Approaching in New York City
The Gender-Motivated Violence Act (GMVA) is a law in New York City that allows survivors to take legal action against individuals and entities who subjected them to gender-based violence.
Gender-based violence includes sexual assault that occurred at work, school, church, or anywhere else.
A unique “lookback window” allows people to file claims for past abuses, even if the time limit for filing has passed. This window ends on February 28th, 2025. After this date, only incidents from the last nine years can be used to file a claim.
If you or someone you know is a survivor, contact Eisenberg & Baum, LLP today before the deadline passes. Our firm is happy to assist you with your GMVA claim and all other harassment issues.
